PARISH OFFICE  hours Mondays 8:00-12:00; Wednesdays 8:00-12:00 and Thursday 8:00-12:00.  Office hours may vary due to things that may come up.

 THE CHURCH due to increased activities around the church and surrounding area. The church will be locked at all times, except for Sundays and during office hours, which are listed above.  

OUR  PASTORS /LAY PERSONS for OCTOBER -  October 20 - Pr. Anna Ritter-Esborn and October 27 - Pr. Kampa.

PASTOR PAUL KAMPA has agreed to take on being our Interim Pastor here at Emmanuel. He will be with us one Sunday a month. Pastor Kampa will visit shut-ins, and if they would like will give them Holy communion. If you would need to reach Pastor Kampa he maybe reached at 570-966-3399.

CHOIR REHEARSAL has begun. Rehearsals are  Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm.  Coleen invites anyone who can sing to join in the choir, if you are interested in joining the choir please see Coleen so she is sure to have enough music ready for everyone.

TRUNK or TREAT is  planned for Halloween night, Thursday, October 31. We will meet in the parking lot. We hope to have our trunks decorated

for the little trick or treaters, with plenty of treats to share. Trinity United Methodist church will also have Trunk or treat in their parking lot. Thank you to our members and friends who volunteered, anyone else is more than welcome to join in the fun. If you have any questions

ADULT/YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL class will be held  Sunday October 27 following the worship service, followed by church council.

COFFEE/COOKIE SOCIAL will be held the first Sunday of every month, following the worship service. There is a sign-up sheet in the Ramp entrance on the bulletin board. if you and your family are interested please pick a Sunday and sign-up to host. Please keep it simple. We would like to continue to provide this time to sit back relax and get to know each other. next Social will be Sunday November 3, Nancy Page, hosting.

YOUTH ADULT FELLOWSHIP: If you consider yourself a young adult, you are invited to join in a time of conversation, study, and prayer every last Wednesday of the month. It's online! Contact jim@campmountluther.org for more information.

CAMP MOUNT LUTHER invites you to an evening at Shade Mountain Winery, Middleburg. The event will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 6:00-8:00p.m. Food served will include heavy appetizers, desserts and a complementary glass of wine. Space is limited and reservations are required. Contact cml@campluther.org or all 570-922-1587. Cost is by donation. All proceeds benefit Camp Lount Luther. Camp also receives a portion from all bottles of wine purchased that evening.  

THE SYNOD'S YOUTH MINISTRY INITATIVE, led by youth from around the synod, kicked off with.  The first event was game night at Christ's Lutheran Church, Lewisburg. Other events scheduled for fall include:

  OCTOBER 20 - Murder Mystery from 2-5pm at St. Matthew's         Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam.

  NOVEMBER 17 - A Ping Pong Tournament (time and place TBA)

  DECEMBER 15 - Advent Holy Hike and Christmas Party from 2-     5pm at Camp Mount Luther.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SHOEBOXES - We will again pack shoeboxes for boys and girls around the world who are less fortunate than others. We will again start collecting items beginning in January. September will be small games, puzzles, small toys i.e. matchboxes and small items for girls. August is school supplies; July was socks; June was WOW items such as Dolls, Soccer/Footballs with pumps, Diaries, etc. We are still in need of WOW items. May was Hygiene items,  April was stuffed animals.  March crafts items such as bead kits, wooden items to paint using magic markers to color with. February we collected fashion accessories such as hair ties, sunglasses, earrings, etc. January was hats and mittens, scarves.   Boxes will be placed on stage in the social hall for each month's gifts. 

FALL FRISBEE FUN DAY! Ready to enjoy a fall day, outdoors and get some exercise? Everyone is invited to come to Camp Mount Luther on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 2:30p.m., to play a round of disc golf. Please meet us at the A-Center. Tere is no need to sign up. Just show up ready to play!

 COMMUNION TO SHUT-IN MEMBERS - Some members of the congregation have received training to bring communion to shut-in members. This important ministry of hospitality and connection will help to bring the message of God's grace to those who can no longer attend worship. If you or someone you know would like to receive the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, please contact the church office so that you or they can be added to the schedule of visitations. However for the time being Visitations are being seen to by  Pastor Kampa. If you have anyone to add please let Cindy or Pastor Kampa know.
