Prayer of the Day
O God, our defender, storms rage around and within us and cause us to be afraid. Rescue your people from despair, deliver your sons and daughters from fear, and preserve us in faith of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

SUNDAY AUGUST 23 - We will welcome back to Emmanuel special musical guests Pianist Fred Hooper and Violinist Broderick Lesher. it is always a pleasure to have them back at Emmanuel to share their musical talents.
POOL PARTY will be held on Sunday afternoon, August 16th, at 5:00-7:00pm at the Middleburg Pool. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish to share. Hot dogs, drinks and paper products will be provided.
EMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH will be ready to have online services beginning next Sunday, August 16th. We have 3 members who have agreed to streamline the services.
LOOKING FOR A WAY TO GET INVOLVED? As part of Emmanuel Lutheran's congregational outreach, Sunshine baskets will be sent out to our members who are experiencing difficult challenges. Whether it is being shut-in, receiving difficult news, etc, a Sunshine Basket will be sent to let them know that their church family is thinking of them. In order for this to be successful, the items listed below are needed to put in the baskets. Snacks - individual packages of crackers, chips, candies, gum, mints, etc. Books - crossword, word find, inspirational, etc. Small bottles of scented hand sanitizer, lotions, other items small enough for a basket and will convey our message. Monetary donations to purchase items. Box for items will be placed on table to drop your donations in. If you have any questions, any names of members we should put on our list, please reach out to Erica Hood or Cindy Mattern.
FALL YARD/BAKE SALE will be held Thursday, September 24th, Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. Start collecting your unwanted items to become someone else's treasures. They may be placed up on the stage.
CHRISTMAS SHOWBOXES are once again being filled this year. If you do not have time or would prefer to donate monetary gifts please see Cindy or Mary they are planning a trip to the Shoebox store in Shippensburg, Pa.
THE UPPER SUSQUEHANNA and NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA SYNODS invite you to join a special journey to Germany this October! The trip is scheduled for October 10-18, 1026, with an optional extension through October 21. This promises to be a meaningful opportunity to experience the rich history, culture, and Lutheran heritage of Germany while traveling with fellow members of our synods. if you've ever wanted to explore the places that shaped the Reformation and deepen your understanding of our Lutheran heritage, consider joining this memorable journey!
